This page is a thread that will connect us during this well-matured project, which will undoubtedly remain as a unique accomplishment in an already fulfilling life.
There is a certain selfishness in this departure of several weeks, which is why the ambition here is to try to share some memories and emotions from this transatlantic journey.
After more than 30 years of passion for flying on both sides of the Atlantic ocean, it is time, at 50 years old, to connect these two lives and to join a community of privileged pilots who have spread their wings in regions that remain remote for many.
My first travel companion is C-GJDP, Mooney serial number 0748, born in 1965 in Texas, an M20E Super 21 model to be exact. Despite nearing 60 years old, its modern equipment and maintenance by impeccable professionals make it a natural choice for this journey, combining the charm of the old with the required level of safety for this adventure.
I will also have the chance to be accompanied by two passionate pilots for whom this will also be their first crossing under 30,000ft! Julien on the way to Europe, Tommy on the way back.
Thank you all for your support and presence on these pages, which are first and foremost yours.
Julien
As someone who’s been passionate about aviation since forever and a true adventurer at heart, crossing the Atlantic in a single-engine plane means much more to me than just a mere journey. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience that intertwines my love for the skies with my insatiable thirst for adventure.
Twenty years after my very first flight, and as I’ve turned 30, it’s time to dive into a project as daring as it is captivating, a project shared with a friend that demands meticulous preparation and constant self-transcendence.
Aviation has always aimed to connect people and break down cultural barriers. Walking in the footsteps of pioneers like Charles Lindbergh, something now routine at 38,000 feet, was once but a dream a century ago.
Passion, adventure, discovery, preparation, and self-transcendence are all pillars supporting this incredible journey through the skies, shared with my friend and renowned pilot of the infamous Juliet Delta Papa.
This odyssey offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore new aerial horizons, breathtaking landscapes, unique meteorological conditions, and above all, days where time seems to stretch into infinity.
Tommy
This journey is the continuation of a random encounter on a flight and around a passion: aviation!
Being part of this epic journey across continents is a real pride and culmination as an aviator.
Every day, I pass on my passion as an instructor and also as a Co-pilot on PC-12 in business aviation.
I have been fortunate to travel around the world, discovering the richness of cultures and people.
I believe that the most beautiful journey will always be the next one, and I look forward to sharing these moments with Nicolas and the C-GJDP…
